News from the November 2008 Meeting
  • General Meeting - Our gas line is buried for safety
  • Our club President announced that if you want an AR15 you will be put on a waiting list.
  • A round of applause was given to all veterans

  • General Meeting - Monroe Gun Show Nov. 1&2
  • Sandusky Gun Club - Gun Show Oct. 18&19
  • Maumee Valley Collectors - Gun Show Rec. center Nov. 15&16
  • The Monday night senior 22 league, Saturday morning junior league and Sunday morning High Power league has room for more shooters.
  • Looking for a volunteer to paint our new doors and windows.
  • Our president Rick Blackwood explained to the members why it's important to vote Republican in November.
  • Rick also told the membership to be safe and take care of their club.
  • Shotgun shooters slugs only. No shot, No BB's, No Buck Shot. SLUGS ONLY.
  • General election for new board members in December. Election party funds increased to $250.00. Don't miss election party December 9th.

News from the September 2008 meeting
  • General Meeting:  Wayne Blank thanked everyone whom came to the NRA dinner at Monroe.

  • A round of applause was given to Gary Blackman, Bill Zornow, Howard Reash and Ed Wing for installing new rubber on the indoor back stop.

  • The club has Greek ammo for sale.

  • We got a thank you card from the Ohio Rifle and Pistol Association for a donation.

  • The 08-09 leagues will start soon see calendar for details.
  • 37 new members were introduced.

  • Bill Burpee has NRA applications, DCM flyers, club hats and patches.

  • Bob Matthews won the fifty-fifty raffle for $ 35.00.
  • About 72 members present.

  • Board Meeting: Board meeting was about new doors and putting a timer on the new exhaust system before winter.

 

 
News from the August 2008 meeting
  • General Meeting:  NW. Ohio's NRA banquet is Aug 21st and Monroe MI. NRA banquet is Sept. 6th.  Wayne Blank has NRA banquet tickets for September 6th.

  • Wayne Blank thanked everyone that help with the MCRGO booth at the Monroe County Fair.

  • Ohio's Castle Doctrine goes into effect Sept. 9th.

  • The Club has Greek ammo for sale in cans and bandoleers.

  • The Luna Pier gun range is open, The schedule is on our bulletin board.
  • Bill Burpee announced that we lost 81 members last year.

  • Gun Show at the Rec-center Sept. 6 &7.

  • Bill Burpee has NRA applications and DCM flyers.
  • Ron Rudolph won the fifty-fifty raffle for $8.00 and will certainly be calling his tax attorney for advice.

  • Board Meeting: A motion was made seconded and passed by vote to take 100 new members this year 50 in Sept. and 50 in Oct.
  • General discussion was about changing our new membership applications, and a long discussion on range rules and how to get members to follow them and be safe.
  
News from the July 2008 meeting
  • General Meeting:  Wayne Blank could use a few more volunteers for the Monroe Country Fair MCRGO booth. Wayne has NRA banquet tickets for September 6th.

  • If you have a CCW permit you can pay $26.00 and get one in Pennsylvania it will make you legal is six more states. 

  • The Supreme court finally got the 2nd amendment straight.

  • Ted Strickland and Marcy Kaptur were at opening shot at Camp Perry for the first time.

  • Howard Reach won the fifty-fifty raffle for $11.00.

  • Board Meeting: We donated $150.00 to the Ohio Rifle and Pistol Team for the Nationals
  • Transferred our bank account to a small business account to save 50% in bank fees.
  • Paid our Bedford summer taxes for $799.36  .

  • To donate $100.00 to the NRA foundation in honor of Rollin Hutchinson.
  • To spend $210 for Plexiglas to mount our new range rule signs.
  • General discussion was about when to take new members, ammo sales, Monroe County water well test, when to start on the new doors and windows.
   
News from the June 2008 meeting
  • General Meeting:  June 21st is the members only swap meet at the club 9AM till whenever.  Set up your own tables or sell out of your trunk.  If we have a good turn out, we'll do it again.

  • Jim Dunmyer read the highlights of the Ohio castle law that goes into effect in September.

  • Wayne Blank introduced Ken Devee, a politician running for the 55th district in the House of Representative in Michigan. Ken gave a short talk. Ladies and gentleman, if you value the freedoms that you have left, please vote for Ken Devee.

  • Wayne still needs volunteers for the MCRGO booth at the Monroe County Fair.

  • Our President caught an ex member shooting at the club. He had not paid his dues in five years. After being caught he wants to rejoin. The president called the Sheriff and wants him arrested for trespassing.

  • Dan Wiederhold said the 30-40 Krag's at Camp Perry are American Legion turn ins some are chrome plated not worth much.

  • Dan Lawecki won the fifty-fifty raffle two months in a row and donated the money to the junior rifle league.

  • Board Meeting: 20 minutes were spent on a domestic dispute.
  • Wayne Blank showed the board the range rule posters and Joe Dusseau was given the job of posting them.
  • General discussion was about ammo sales at Camp Perry, orientating new members and moving security cameras .

  • About 43 members present.

 

News from the May 2008 meeting
  • General Meeting:  Wayne Blank needs volunteers for the MCRGO booth at the Monroe County Fair.

  • Gene Parrish was given a round of applause for building eight shooting benches.

  • Indoor range lights need to be rewired..

  • The shooting benches are in the way for the 30 caliber shooters. The president asked if they could put them back when finished shooting.

  • Bill Burpee has DCM flyers, club hats and patches.

  • Gun show at the Maumee Rec. center May 17&18.

  • Camp Perry is getting is some 30-40 Krag's and 30.06 and 22 ammo.

  • Dan Lawecki won the fifty-fifty and donated it to the junior rifle league.

  • General discussion: A member said May11th the gate was left open the lights were on and 22 cases all over the floor. Remember this is your club, you have the authority to question anybody on your club grounds. Follow the rules and be safe.
     

  • Board meeting: General discussion was about ammo sales, range rules posted inside and out, orientating new members, moving some security cameras.
  • The NRA dinner will be Sept 6th not the 26th. My mistake.

  • The new doors and windows are in but the contractor broke his leg so were on hold till it heals.
  • General discussion was about baffles, newsletter, new rubber for indoor range, winter .22 league.
  • About 52 members present at Tuesday's meeting.

 
News from the April 2008 meeting
  • General Meeting:  The lead has been cleaned out of the indoor range backstop. Jim Dunmyer told members that a live round got into the lead pot and exploded lucky nobody got hurt, please be careful and think what you are doing.

  • Wayne Blank told members to E-mail there representatives about house bill 4490. Wayne has precinct delegate applications. There will be an NRA dinner Sept 26th.

  • Bill Burpee announced the newsletter is coming out and dues are $50.00, he has club hats, patches. NRA applications and DCM flyers. Camp Perry DCM office is open on Wed., Thurs. and Fri. Right now they have good rifles.

  • John Zapieki won the fifty-fifty for $23.00.

  • A round of applause was given to Gene Parrish for building two shooting benches for the 100 yard line.

     
  • April 2008 Board meeting: The club will no longer sell ammo until we receive more.
  • We are buying four new 8 foot tables for indoor range. Six more shooting benches will be made.

  • The dead trees will be cut out of the fence line.
  • General discussion was about baffles, newsletter, new rubber for indoor range, winter .22 league
  • The swap  meet will be June 21st. This will be members only and first come first served for indoor space, weather permitting.  Bring your own tables and setup. For more info on the swap meet, contact dawiederhold3@aol.com
