News from the July 2010 Meeting
  • Ohio Police and Fireman's Olympics was successful.  Many comments about how nice our range is. Thanks to Gene Parrish and all the work he does for the club. The junior league made $60.00 selling hamburgs and drinks.
  • July 28th - The NRA's Institute for Legislative Action will have and open meeting at Cabela's.

  • Wayne Blank needs volunteers to help the club put on a hunter safety course in the Fall.
  • August 13-14-15 and 21-22 at Cabela's will be classes for becoming a pistol instructor.

  • Governor Strickland fired first shot at Camp Perry this year.
  • Commercial Row is open at Camp Perry during the competition and most prices are lower than other places.
  • 28 new members had their first readings at the July meeting.
 
News from the June 2010 Meeting
  • President Rick Blackwood explained to the membership that grandparents can bring their underage grandkids to the club under their membership card, as family.
  • Indoor range closed between 9 and 5, July 21 to 31, for remodeling bathrooms.
  • Wayne Blank needs volunteers to help the club put on a hunter safety course.
  • The NRA Institute for Legislative Action will have and open meeting at Cabela's on June 12th at 6 PM. 
  • Gun Show in Monroe on June 12th & 13th.  Tom Schultz will have a Smith and Wesson display.
  • Police and Fireman's Olympics is June 16 - 19.  Range closed, but members can watch and help.
  • We now have 182 on members waiting list and will start taking new members in July.
  • Doug Creager won the fifty-fifty for $19.00 and donated it to the Junior League.

     
  • Board Meeting
  • General discussion:
    We are going to put a new sign on front gate.
    Some signs have been replaced, looks good.
    Have the brush removed behind the 100 yard target frames.
    Target shed will be replaced.
    Lead should be removed from indoor backstop and new rubber installed. We might try to use wire as target holders in stead of metal frames to help spread out the wear on new rubber.
 
News from the May 2010 Meeting
  • Camp Perry will have instruction classes for safe and proper handling and shooting of pistols July 11 & 12.
  • Rifle classes will be at the end of July..
  • Wayne Blank is looking for volunteers to help with hunter safety courses Ph 734.241.9131
  • Gun show in Monroe July 11 & 12. 
  • June 16 to 19 our club range will be closed for the Police and Fireman's Olympics.  You're welcome to come and watch.
  • D.C.M. at Camp Perry has Kimber 22s for $400.00.  You will have to show your dues card.
  • Terry Sekulski won the fifty-fifty for $26.00 and donated it to the junior rifle league.

     
  • Board Meeting
  • We need a fire exit door on the West end of the building. So while were at it we will remodel both the men's and women's rest rooms. Cost $4,586.00  
  • Approved expenditure of $489 for stationary, 10,000 envelopes and letterheads
  • Approved expenditure of $185.19 for new NRA range book, range flags and signs. 
     
  • General discussion: We decided to let Grandparents bring their Grandchildren to the club more than once. ( part of their family membership ).
    We are going to hire an Architect to draw plans for making our outdoor range a no sky range, for safety sake.
 
News from the April 2010 Meeting
  • The club bought a laptop computer and a business program to go with it so the club can have a permanent record of club business
  • Wayne Blank won the fifty-fifty raffle in February for $13.00.
  • Tom Schultz won $17.00 in April and donated it to the club
  • Greg Peters won $24.00 in March. 
  • The Police and Fireman want to use our club in June for their Olympics.

  • We had a DNR representative Peggy Ruby give a talk on our club doing a hunter safety course. 
  • Wayne Blank and Gary Blackman want to put on a hunter safety course for our club
  • We need a dud can for the outside range. Because when trash is burned, rounds go off. Not good. Dangerous.

     
  • Board Meeting
  • The board meeting lasted over and hour and a half. After a long and heated debate, the dues are raised to $60.00 and initiation fee to $100.00 and the membership to 1000 pending the Membership Chairman's time.
     
  • General Discussion Items.:
    Our affiliation with the NRA, hunter safety courses, ammo sales, rebuilding the indoor range backstop, washing walls, patching the ceiling, tiling the bathrooms, concrete on the 100 yard line, cover on 100 yard line, baffles at all firing points, LED lights on the outside,

     
 
 
News from the January 2010 Meeting
  • February 5-6-7 Cabela's will have an NRA recruiting drive
  • Gun Show at the Rec. Center in Maumee, January 30-31.
  • March 20-21 Cabela's will have a pro gun weekend. Wayne LaPiere from the NRA will be there plus prosecutors and attorneys from Michigan and Ohio with information on both states concealed carry laws.
  • Ron Rudolph won the fifty-fifty raffle for $19.00. 
  • The Board voted to make Edward Blake a life member. Edward has paid every year since 1963.

    The rail road ties on the 100 yard line are rotting away.
    Buying two lap computers and an internet router for the club house.
    Painting the ceiling and the floor.
    Light over the front door.
    The president discussed the progress from the indoor range, outdoor range and administration committees.
